This month’s story prompt: Courage.

Here are some suggestions to get your story wheels turning.

Describe a time you took a stand against something bigger than yourself.

When was a time you felt like a coward and vowed to act differently moving forward?

When did you realize fortune favors the bold?

Tell us a story when you started to walk the walk, not just talk the talk.

Share a time you willingly faced a fear and it changed your life.

Tell us a time when you failed, and you picked yourself up and tried again.

Diane Patterson Concert

Award-winning songwriter Diane Patterson subverts the dominant paradigm and sings the world awake with rocking acoustic guitar and ukulele, a mighty pen, and a woman’s voice. Since 1989, Patterson has weaved her original mystic acoustic Americana and unifying stories, planting seeds of love and revolution.

Diane’s 2022 release, Satchel of Songs, was produced by Mike Napolitano (Ani DiFranco, Squirrel Nut Zippers) and featured renowned supporting artists Terence Higgins, Todd Sickafoose, Barbara Higbie, Alice DiMicele, Janelle Burdell, Joe Craven and Ani DiFranco.

Based in Northern California, Diane started her musical journey playing guitar in church as a kid, moving on to blues, reggae, and world music. Her songs honor ancient people and the land and speak of reconciliation and peace while being ever hopeful for a bright future. Garth Thomas of Hollywood Digest remarked about Patterson’s live show, “impassioned delivery, sparkling musicianship, and sharp lyrical skill. A performance intoxicated with the spirit of creation.”

With seven solo records to her credit, Patterson has toured in the US, Europe, and her beloved Scandinavia, where she has spent extensive heartfelt time.
